Kirk Behrendt
CEO, Speaker & Coach
Kirk Behrendt is a practice performance coach, international speaker and author. Kirk has invested his entire professional life studying the elite practices in dentistry and the leadership that guides them. As the founder of ACT, his vision is driven by the commitment to provide highly personalized care to the dental profession. By creating a talented team of experts, Kirk and his team continue to positively impact the practice of dentistry one practice at a time. His personal mission is to use up every ounce of his potential. Kirk lectures all over the world to help individuals take control of their own lives. Dentistry Today recently recognized Kirk as one of the Leaders in Dental Consulting in 2011. Dr. Peter Dawson called him “THE best motivator I have ever heard.” Kirk has competed internationally in 4 Ironman Triathlons and 9 Half-Iron Triathlons. He currently trains with some of the best triathletes competing in the world today. His feeling is that there is no greater parallel to optimal business performance than optimal athletic performance. He loves cycling, basketball, stand-up comedy, and most of all, spending time with his wife, Sarah, and children Kinzie, Lily, Zoe & Bo. -
Sheri Kay
COO, Lead Practice Coach
Sheri Kay brings passion and joyful energy to her work every day. She is dedicated to building a strong sense of community within each dental practice and takes pride in having the ability to help each person maximize their contribution to the team. Her enthusiasm is contagious, and her dedication to the success of others is remarkable. Having worked for many years as a hygienist and a practice facilitator, Sheri lives and breathes the philosophy of integrating healthy relationships with exquisite restorative dentistry. Her mission is to partner with other practices that also desire a high level of effectiveness within their teams. “Becoming a Practice Coach with ACT gives me an opportunity to be a part of a great team,” Sheri says. “I love being able to primarily focus on excellence, raising the bar on what is possible in dentistry.” Sheri earned her bachelor’s degree from Youngstown State University. She is proud to hold certificates in International Coaching and Organizational Development from the internationally-renowned Gestalt Institute of Cleveland. Robyn Reis

Robyn Reis brings an enthusiastic attitude, boundless energy and professional commitment to helping ACT clients achieve extraordinary results. She credits two amazing dentists for igniting her passion in dentistry over 13 years ago. Since then, Robyn’s experience as a marketing director, practice administrator, dental laboratory salesperson and continuing education director has only enhanced her love and appreciation for what the dental profession can do for others. She considers herself a student as well as a teacher, and sees each day as a new opportunity to learn. Robyn has a natural ability to connect with people on all levels through her sense of humor, outgoing personality and her genuine desire to help. Rachael Berman

Rachael Berman came to ACT with a background in property management and commercial/investment real estate. With a B.S. in English Lit from The University of Kansas, she excels at making lists and handling details. She feels incredibly fortunate to be a member of the ACT Team and enjoys every minute of her day spent planning events, helping our community, and managing Kirk’s speaking schedule. Debra Hewitt is a small business educator, professional speaker and an experienced business trainer in the field of dental management. She has worked with one of the most prestigious business schools for dentists in the world and has personally coached over 380 practices across the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico.Debra has been part of the dental industry since 1982 which includes over thirteen years of clinical and administrative experience prior to 1994 when she entered into the role of a small business educator.

Dr. John Gordon

Dr. Gordon has practiced full time comprehensive restorative and cosmetic dentistry for over 25 years in the Kansas City Northland area. In addition, he lectures and gives presentations on cosmetic dental procedures, materials and smile design principles. Dr. Gordon also speaks about the business and financial aspects as related to cosmetic and restorative dentistry, marketing, digital dental photography and laboratory communication that assures you get the results you and the patient are happy with. Dr. Gordon is a member of the International Congress of Osseous Integration, Academy of Osseousintegration, and the American Academy of Dental Practice Administration. Dr. Michael C. Fling

Michael C. Fling, D.D.S., began his career in dentistry in 1976 as a laboratory technician. Graduating from Oklahoma University College of Dentistry in 1984, he received the “Young Dentist of the Year Award” in 1988 from the Oklahoma Dental Association. Maintaining a private practice with an emphasis on restorative dentistry, he has served as Course Director and Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Fixed Prosthodontics at the O.U. College of Dentistry. He is the founder and President of Fling Seminars, providing advanced dental education to dentists, dental teams and technicians throughout the country. Currently he serves as a guest lecturer at O.U. College of Dentistry in the Department of Fixed Prosthodontics and as a Visiting Faculty member at The Pankey Institute.Dr. Fling is also on staff with the St. Anthony’s Hospital General Residency Program and with the Advance Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) residents at the O.U. College of Dentistry, lecturing on restorative concepts and technical excellence. He recently completed the process to be awarded the title of “Pankey Scholar.” As a member of the American Academy of Restorative Dentistry, the American Academy of Fixed Prosthodontics, and the American College of Dentists, he has lectured throughout the country to dental and laboratory associations and to various study groups on fundamental principles of restorative dentistry and achieving technical excellence.

Dr. Andrea Beerman

Dr. Andrea Beerman graduated from the University of Missouri – Kansas City, School of Dentistry in 2002, and her restorative dental practice is in the nearby suburb, Leawood, Kansas. In addition to maintaining her private practice, she has been a Clinical Professor at the University of Missouri, Kansas City School of Dentistry, has spoken and presented for many groups and study clubs, and is a Facilitator of learning at The Pankey Institute in Key Biscayne, Florida.Andrea believes in life-long learning. She is committed to regularly surrounding herself with like-minded individuals who aspire to higher levels of personal and professional development. She finds some of the best learning she encounters is in small, collaborative groups who work together to innovate, vision, and master new abilities. Andrea enjoys working with dentists and dental teams helping inspire them to find their individual passion and then to live and work in the center of this energy. She maintains professional affiliations with the Academy of General Dentistry, the AACD and the ADA, the American Equilibration Society, RV Tucker Study Club, and Kansas City Dental Implant Society. Dr. Bernie Villadiego

Dr. Bernie Villadiego graduated from Creighton University School of Dentistry in 1989 and went on to complete a general practice residency program at Los Angeles County/USC Medical Center. He established a private practice with an emphasis in esthetic and reconstructive dentistry in Chatsworth, California in 1993. An Accredited member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, Dr. Villadiego is a graduate of several cosmetic residency dentistry programs at the Esthetic Professionals Dental Education Center in California and now serves as their clinical instructor in the Advanced Fixed Prosthodontics and Occlusion residency program. He has also completed continuums at the Seattle Institute for Advanced Dental Education and the Dawson Center for Advanced Dental Study. An avid photographer, Dr. Villadiego has lectured on the use of glamour photography in dental marketing. -
Dr. Stephen Malone

Dr. Stephen K. Malone has an aesthetic and reconstructive dental practice in Knoxville, TN. He has been in practice there for 12 years. Dr. Malone is a member of the American Dental Association, the Tennessee Dental Association, and he is Vice President of the 2nd District Dental Society. Dr. Malone lectures locally and nationally to groups about dentistry, the importance of relationships, and creating a balanced life. Dr. Malone graduated from the University of Louisville Dental School in 1994. He is a Pankey Scholar and a Facilitator at The Pankey Institute in Key Biscayne, Florida. He is also an advisor for the Board of Directors of The Pankey Foundation. Dr. Malone and his wife, Lisa, have 2 sons, Davis and Grant. He enjoys spending time with family, cycling, and boating. -

Dr. Brian DesRoches

Dr. Brian DesRoches is a consultant, psychotherapist, nationally known workshop facilitator and internationally published author. Since the early 1980’s he has provided coaching and consulting services for individuals and organizations seeking change. Prior to that time he was a hospital administrator and vice president of a multi-hospital corporation. Brian has an extensive professional education with a Master of Health Care Administration, Master of Science in Counseling, Master of Business Administration and Doctorate in Pastoral Counseling and Psychology. He completed two years of post-graduate training in Marriage and Family Systems and is a Clinical Member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. Brian has also completed hundreds of hours of continuing education in various disciplines such as neuroscience, post traumatic stress disorder, and applications of advanced systems thinking. Dr. DesRoches has worked with professional organizations and firms for over twelve years providing consulting, coaching and workshops that focus on experiencing a high performing, profitable and fulfilling business environment. He developed and facilitates the nationally known Practice Leadership workshop based on the principles of Mindful Leadership and the Optimizing Your Influence in Client and Patient Relationships course. Shannon Pace

Shannon Pace is a graduate of the Dental Assisting Program at Bowman Gray School of Medicine and has been a dental assistant for over 20 years. She is the past president of the Metrolina Dental Assistants Society in Charlotte and is on the advisory board for the dental assistant program at Central Piedmont Community College. Shannon is the past co-editor-in-chief for REALITYTEAM and the editor-in-chief for Inside Dental Assisting. She is on faculty at The Dawson Academy. Shannon sits on the editorial board for the Journal of Cosmetic Dentistry and serves on the AACD’s New Member Committee. She is the first auxiliary to sit on the AACD Executive Board. Shannon is an evaluator for Dental Advisor and a consultant for many dental manufacturers.
