Quotes:

“We're going to disrupt the industry and be that community, that group of people that is here solely to support and elevate independent private practice. Now, we're starting something new. It's a combination of efforts. It's a new community. It's a movement. It's not just two companies coming together. As we talked about, we need you. We're going to set the movement started, we're going to begin this community, and we need all the private practice dentists out there that are listening that this resonates with. We need you to join us and come and get some momentum going.” (1:16—1:50) -Dr. Straub

“If you're an ACT Dental community member, you've been listening to this podcast, or you're a Smile Source dentist that is listening to this podcast, or if you're neither and you just found this podcast, I'm going to encourage you to consider joining us in Louisville, Kentucky, September 10th through the 13th for The Exchange. Why? Because it's an amazing educational community event. I'm going to have Jeff explain that in a second. It is the first time the ACT community and the Smile Source community will be under one roof together, and there's going to be some power and some inspiration in that.” (2:28—3:06) -Dr. Straub

“You were saying why people should consider going. I would say you need to go. This is not a want. This is a need. If you know anything about me and my family, we're a big Ole Miss family. One time, there was a football player. He was being interviewed, and they asked him, ‘Why did you go to Ole Miss?’ He said, ‘I went to visit.’ They said, ‘You mean the visit is all that it took?’ He said, ‘Well, my Granddad told me, if you don't want to go to Ole Miss, don't go visit. Because once you visit, you're going to go.’ Now, I have a little bias there, but this is the same thing. Put this to the Smile Source Exchange. Once you come, you'll stay. Once you see us in action, you will stay.” (5:42—6:30) -Dr. Osborne

“Unfortunately, right now, the way the world is going, in-person meetings are struggling. Attendance is down on all these meetings. People are finding a different way to find their education, et cetera. But the collaboration of doctors together — we're such a cottage industry. We're loners. We're out there by ourselves, and you don't need to be. The best way to improve yourself and your practice is to lock arms with other people. This will be a time to rejuvenate your mind, your body, your soul, and get you back to doing what you want to do in the trajectory of your practice.” (7:07—7:48) -Dr. Osborne

“Two nights ago, I was having dinner with some industry people. One of the three reps that I was having dinner with, he's been to The Exchange. His two bosses were with us. My friend, Cory, looked at him and said, ‘You've never experienced anything.’ They're like, ‘Do you think we should go to see what this is about?’ These were his bosses. He's like, ‘Yes.’ Even he said, ‘It's not a sales pitch because when we go there, we're going there to see friends.’ This is an industry person. He said, ‘Because they know I'm not there to sell them. I'm there to be their partner.’ So, you're not going to have people in the exhibit hall running from each other like, ‘Oh, Lord. No, no! Not the guy selling light bulbs again. No, no, no!’ They know they're not trying to sell you. What they're trying to do is elevate you — and that even came from an industry representative. So, he doesn't even look at it as a sales opportunity. He looks at it as just growth, in general.” (8:43—9:46) -Dr. Osborne

“Our Infinity Groups, I think, is one of the things that sets us apart from other organizations. We have four different Infinity Groups. We have what we call the Emerging Markets. These are probably going to be maybe younger, definitely smaller practices doing under $1 million. But if you look at the ADA, under $1 million could be considered the average practice based upon some of the numbers they put out there. But it's under $1 million. We then have the Millionaires Club, which is $1 million to $2 million. Then, we have the CEO Group, which is $2 million and above. Then, we have the Teams Group. So, you bring your teams. Your teams need to come. Then, we have an Infinity Group just for the team. So, they'll be in teams training where they can all lock arms together and rejuvenate and have fun. Our goal with these Infinity Groups is I want the Emerging Markets to graduate up to the Millionaire Club, and I want the Millionaire Club to all graduate to the CEO. I want us to keep pushing everybody through the system.” (9:52—11:01) -Dr. Osborne

“I've been to a lot of those — I know everyone has — where you go into the lecture, you see a bunch of dentistry of the guy saying, ‘Look at how great I am.’ You feel like, ‘I can't do that,’ and you feel bad. Then, you walk on the vendor floor and everyone is saying, ‘Buy this $200,000 piece. Buy this $100,000 piece. Buy this $150,000 piece. Everyone has them. If you don't, you're not a good dentist.’ Sometimes, you leave those meetings not feeling great about yourself. What I'm hearing, Jeff, is this is going to be exactly the opposite. Meaning, you're going to be surrounded with like-minded people. Not only is everyone there as a private practice dentist, but now with the Infinity Groups, you're going to be surrounded by people that are really in your same business model, in your shoes.” (13:22—14:06) -Dr. Straub
