Remember that story about the tortoise and the hare? The hare took off so fast, he was completely gassed long before hitting the finish line. Meanwhile, the tortoise took his sweet old time walking down the track. He won without even breaking a sweat!

The story is just like your practice. If you work too hard, you’re going to burn out. A hot trend right now is expanding into multiple locations. But the bigger you get, the more you work. And the more you work, the more you write off. You’re just increasing the number of days you work for free!

You don’t need a bunch of locations. All you need is one.

Life is a marathon, not a sprint. Focus your time and energy on the office you already have. Keeping the practice small will maximize quality for patients. There’s your family to think about, too! Say no to opportunities that compromise your life outside of work. You need to slow down, otherwise, you’ll miss out on the memories.

The team and I did our own take on the tortoise and the hare story. Go check out the skit for a good laugh!

Until next time,
