Weather Any Storm: The Power of Focus
Bad things happen when you least expect them. Maybe you’re dealing with car problems or a family emergency. Your kid is sick, so you need to leave early. You just had the snowstorm of the century, and now your practice is shut down.
No matter the problem, people always respond the same. They FREAK OUT!
Dentists tend to focus on what they can’t control. “Our schedule is completely thrown off! How will we keep collections on track?” You can’t control what happens, but you CAN control how you react.
Have a plan for when plans fall through. Write down what you’ll do if bad weather hits, a team member calls in sick, school lets out early, and so on. That way, when problems arise, you can respond in the best way possible.
The bottom line? What you focus on grows. Choose to focus on what’s in your control!
